Register and Renewal of the Demand Occupation (known as DARDE): It’s a card that all Work Offices give to all the persons that are registered as employment seeker.
There are several renewal dates. The employment seekers must go to the Work Office during these renewal dates in order to validate the card. This kind of renewal is actually done by Internet.

Job seeker : A person who is looking for an occupation and is registered in a Work Office to get it. This person can be worker or non-worker.

Eures (European Employment Services): cooperation network for the occupation and the free movement of workers, basic principle in the European Union (EU).

Continuous training: subsidized courses for workers.

Training in Professional Occupation: several courses for workers and non-workers.

Mediator: SOC introduces the employment seeker to a company. It’s a free public service.

Job market: The field where the employment seekers and the companies are related. It statistically shows the economic evolution and the social trends in the job market.

Oficines de Treball de la Generalitat (work offices): Places where citizens find services in training courses and occupation. .

Stand for a job : An employment seeker wants to be an applicant for a job offer registered at the SOC.

Renew the demand: An employment seeker wants to be still registered at the SOC. It’s a presential procedure carried out in the Work Office during the days indicated in the DARDE. .

Administrative situation: the state of a person as an employment seeker. There are three administrative situations: registered, in suspension or unsubscribed.

Registered in the administration: an employment seeker is registered at the SOC, for finding a job or also for participating in the different offered services.

Unsubscribed from administration: A person does not want to continue registered at SOC. This situation happens when the employment seeker has an employment contract or when he has not renewed the demand. .

Administrative suspension: The situation of the employment seeker. It is a temporary situation (training, illness, etc.) During this situation it’s not necessary to renew the demand.

SOC (Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya): Autonomous organization affiliated with the Generalitat de Catalunya Work Department.

Suspension with intermediation: Temporary situation of the employment seeker for exceptional reasons (training, illness, etc.). During this situation it’s no necessary to renew the demand. The employment application is still in the job offers registered at the SOC..

Suspension without intermediation: Temporary situation of the employment seeker for exceptional reasons (training, illness, etc.). During this situation it is no necessary to renew the demand. The employment application does not participate in the job offers registered at the SOC.
