Service of professional orientation of the SOC

Ask for appointment in your Office of Work so that qualified staff accompanies and advises you in the process of incorporation to the job market. It is a free service of the Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya.

Has it ever happened to you that you did not ever for where to start to search work?
Have you had stages in those that you did not know of what you wanted to work?
Do you send many curricula but you do not obtain answer of the companies?
Do you know what distinguishes you from the rest of professionals?

What is it for?

The Service of professional orientation of the SOC facilitates you a major knowledge of the job market and allows you to evaluate if you have what the market asks for to access the work (or works) that you want, and what you can make to increase the possibilities to achieve it.

How does it work?

It is a process in what you carry out some interviews and reflections, individual as well as together, with a professional or, additionally, you take part in dynamics of group with other persons in a similar situation to yours.

It is established a relation of confidentiality and mutual collaboration that makes possible that you learn new competences to selforient oneself progressively in your current and future work situation.

During the process the Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya will help you to:

• Describing your professional objectives.
• Knowing your main interests and motivations.
• Taking consciousness of what the companies and the professionals require and offer.
• Identifying your capacities and limitations at work level.
• Carrying out a plan of action to improve and achieving your objectives.
• Being well focused in an efficient research of your work.

Who takes part?

The orientation is an agreement, at least, between two persons who necessarily have to adopt an active role in the process:

• You, the user, are the expert in your own life and have the function of bringing your motivation and personal resources to achieve what you want to professional level.
• The guiding professional, is the expert in stimulating your capacity to stand in the work world and has the function of helping yourself to construct bridges between your current work situation and that in what you want to be in a next future. He accompanies you in the itinerary of finding what you can offer to the job market and what it offers to you.

Projecte Impuls - Advice

The Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya approved last month of December an agreement with 30 commitments for 2010, joint to the more representative economical and social agents of our country, with the objective of reactivating the Catalan economics, reinforcing its economical and work institutions and dealing, to the persons as well as to the companies, how the absolute priority in order to help them to go out of the current crisis.

Within the framework of this agreement and thanks to the extraordinary resources, the Departament de Treball is developing the projecte Impuls, in which the service of orientation is framed.

Through the projecte Impuls it is wanted to attain concrete impacts that they have a high multiplier effect that can benefit the highest number of persons as companies in the areas of the training, work, advice and equality of opportunities.
