The CIFO integrated into the training networks
The Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya (SOC) currently has eight Innovation and Occupational Training Centres (CIFO), each of them dedicated to training in specific professional areas.

In order to attain the maximum level of excellence, monitoring of the CIFO is integrated into two of the most important Training Networks at a state level:
- FP.CAT Network
- National Reference Centres
FP.CAT Centres of Excellence Network
The FP.CAT project, promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya and which covers students from any of the three modes of Professional Training (FP) (Initial FP for young people, Occupational FP for unemployed workers and Continuous FP for employed workers) sharing subject matter and, therefore, study plans; it represents a seal of quality, and is made up of::
- Expert teachers
- Suitable and quality equipment and materials
- Training processes distributed in modules aimed at acquiring professional skills
Today there are five CIFO that form part of the FP.CAT network such as Centres of Excellence in training workers in different professional areas:
- CIFO Sant Feliu, Centre of Excellence of the FP.CAT Network in the professional group of Transport
- CIFO Santa Coloma, Centre of Excellence of the FP.CAT Network in the professional group of Environmental Sustainability
- CIFO Tarragona, Centre of Excellence of the FP.CAT Network in the professional group of Industrial Chemistry
- CIFO L'Hospitalet, Centre of Excellence of the FP.CAT Network in the professional group of Graphic Arts
- CIFO Lleida, Centre of Excellence of the FP.CAT Network in the professional group of Food Production
Other centres will be gradually integrated.
Network of National Reference Centres (CNR)
The CNR Network, which aims to detect the current qualification needs in the actual productive system in order to produce suitable didactic guides and appropriate certificates of skills and professionalism, is made up of centres which are references -at a state level- in training in specific professional groups.
Catalonia currently has two CNR centres:
- CIFO Sant Feliu, National Reference Centre in the field of Mechanical Operations in the Mechanical Manufacturing group. This centre also acts - until the completion of the construction of the new Centre of Excellence for Professional Training in Transport in Martorell-as CNR in the field of Bodywork in the Transport and Vehicle Maintenance group.
- CIFO L'Hospitalet, National Reference Centre in the field of Graphic Arts
Additionally, the CIFO Santa Coloma is a candidate centre to become the third CNR, located in Catalonia, in the field of Environmental management in the Safety and Environment group.
