"Treball als barris" - Working in the neighbourhoods

Official Notification 2009

The Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya through the "Treball als barris" (Working in the neighbourhoods) Project promotes the undertaking of actions complementary to the Districts Law, in questions of employment and local development, the target group of which are people who live in the districts that have projects approved for the integral intervention by the Department of Territorial Policy and Public Works of the Generalitat de Catalunya within the Law 2/2004, of the 4 June.

In the 2007 official notification more than 3,000 people from 56 districts in 47 towns in Catalonia benefited directly from the programmes subsidised through this initiative.

In the 2008 official notification, a total of 80 districts from 64 towns benefited from the support provided by the "Work in the Districts" Project, with actions addressed to close on 6,000 people directly.

In the 2009 official notification 92 districts can take part as approved by the Department of Territorial Policy and Public Works up until now, as well as the districts that will be selected this year. The latter mentioned will have a specific application deadline, once the Department of Territorial Policy and Public Works has dealt with its 2009 official notification.

Beneficiaries

The local entities in Catalonia who have projects passed of integral intervention in districts or urban areas, by the Department of Territorial Policy and Public Works since 2004 and within the Law 2/2004, of the 4 June, later clarified by Decree 369/2004, of the 7 September.

Funding

20.000.000 euros.

Cofunded by the European Social Fund.

Regulation

• Resolution TRE/2119/2009, of 21 of July, of enlargement of the available credits for the subsidies that are granted according to the Resolution TRE/1675/2009, of 15 of June, for which the call opens for 2009 for the concession of subsidies within the framework of the project Work in the neighborhoods.
• Decree 369/2004, (PDF, 97 kB) of the 7 September, which develops Law 2/2004, of the 4 June, on the improvement of districts, urban areas and towns that require special attention. (Catalan State Gazetteer (DOGC) 4215 - 09/09/2004).
